President's Message

As the president of Malnad Social Service Society, it is a great privilege and responsibility for me to be part of the Social Work activities of our diocese. At the outset, I would like to appreciate the good works that are taken up my MSSS.
There are various commissions actively functioning in the diocese of Bhadravathi. Through consultations of the directors of these commissions and other engagement activities we’re learning much more about what social workers can – and want – to do. As part of this engagement, apart from WEP and Child Helpline projects; last year we launched in partnership with Caritas India, ‘Suraksha’ – on health & hygiene which was very appropriate to improve the health conditions of the people of rural villages as well as slums. I am happy to note that new volunteers who have joined MSSS in connection with Suraksha and Child-Help-Line are a great boost to our social work activities. May your spirit continue to emulate and lead you to strive forward and work for the betterment of people.

I take this opportunity to congratulate Fr. Abraham Areeparambil and his team of staff; working for the people under the banner of MSSS. Social workers understand better than anyone that care and support must be a collective endeavour. Only together that we can protect, sustain and empower a health and care system that delivers great care for all. Let’s therefore work together to improve the living conditions of our people. Let our efforts be emancipation of the poor and the less privileged ones of the society. Thus let’s build a better world which is environment friendly, collaborative and sustainable.

With God’s Choicest Blessings to each of you

Mar Joseph Arumachadath - Bishop of Bhadravathi & President of MSSS
